Nikki thought he was cute and James was too absorbed in his iPod to notice her approaching, but when their friends hooked them up, things took off quickly in the summer of 2005. After a few weeks apart — James went to Europe & Nikki went to Wisconsin — James asked her out and nothing has been the same since. From singing in choirs, to debating philosophy, theology, and everything else, to swimming, running, walking, and watching Smallville, these two have been inseparable.
On February 12th of 2009, after a metal concert in downtown Chicago, James dropped to one knee and asked the question that would lead to the lifetime entanglement of marriage, and obvious by the mere existence of this page and these words that you’re reading, she said “yes!”
